The recent typhoon Ragasa brought destruction to Hong Kong, with many trees falled all around, and bringing winds over 170km/h! Areas were flooded, and water exceeded 3.8 meters above the datum chart at maximum. Despite this, after the storm had subsided, I visited Mai Po, hoping to find some migrants which had been blown in by the storm. One of the first birds that I saw was the flock Azure Winged Magpies by the access road.
台风樺加沙刚刚过了香港，有地方的水是高过3.8米。台风的风有170公里！很多地方都有洪水，所以很危险。我去了米埔看鸟，我第一只鸟看到是灰喜鹊。

Once I got into the reserve, I spotted lots of Black Drongos flycatching from open perches, I noticed a few were fighting with each other. I noticed one which looked weird, and upon closer inspection I found that it was bright yellow! And what other species could it be than a Black Naped Oriole, which was a first for me this season. I spotted another one further away later.
我进去了米埔之后，我看到了很多只黑卷尾，他门飞来飞去。我看到了一只好上不同的，我看多一起就看到了他是黑枕黄鹂！我之后都看到了第二只。

As we continued on walking, we picked up some more common birds, including Collared Crows, Black Winged Stilts and a Long Tailed Shrike.
我们在行的时候看到了普通的鸟，例如白頸鴉，黑翅長腳鷸和棕背伯劳。

Soon after, I saw a large White Shouldered Starling flock land on one of the trees, and I decided to scan for some migrating species, since September is the prime time to look for these birds. Suddenly, I saw a weird-looking starling, with black wings, and what other bird could it be than a beautiful male Daurian Starling!
之后，我看到了一群灰背椋鸟飞到了一个树上，我就看有没有遷徙的椋鸟因为九月是就好的时间去看的。突然，我看到了一只椋鸟有黑色的翅膀，就一定是一只北椋鸟雄鳥！

The buffalo paddy was partially flooded by the rains after the typhoon, which attracted many Egrets, including Little Egrets, Medium Egrets, Great Egrets and lots of Eastern Cattle Egrets. There were also a few terns flying around and hunting, including a White Winged Tern and Whiskered Terns.
在水牛圍場，那个草地有一部分都被淹沒了。有很多不同的鹭，有中白鹭，大白鹭，小白鹭和牛背鹭。都有几只燕鸥，有白翅浮鷗和须浮鸥。

Along the border fence, I spotted a flock of Great Cormorants, they should have just arrived, and being very tired. This flock was the first that I saw this season.
我看到了一群普通鸕鷀，你几只是我这一个秋季第一次见。
As I was leaving the reserve, I suddenly flushed a snipe, which turned out to be a Pin Tailed Snipe. I also spooked a heron, I managed to grab a few shots and it revealed itself to be a Striated Heron.
我走的时候嚇了一只针尾沙锥和绿鹭。

I visited Lau Fau Shan to look for shorebirds, I did find a few species, including Pacific Golden Plovers, Tibetan Sand Plovers, Grey Tailed Tattlers, Whimbrels and a pair of Common Redshanks.
我去了流浮山看滩鸟，例如金斑鸻，青藏沙鴴，灰尾漂鹬，中杓鷸和一堆红脚鹬。

I also paid a visit to the airport to try and find the House Sparrows reported recently, and due to the heavy typhoons recently, when I visited it was pouring rain. There were many Eurasian Tree Sparrows, but due to the heavy rain, I thought I saw one sparrow like a house sparrow, but the flock flew away and into the airport before I could get a good look.
我去了香港机场，因为有人见到了几只家麻雀，但是我去的时候很大雨。有很多只树麻雀，但是因为太大雨了，我号上看到了家麻雀，但是飞走了！
After a while. I decided to leave since it was getting dark, and on the way out I added a Long Tailed Shrike and a pair of Little Egrets.
过了一个小时，我都看不到所以我走了。走的时候，我看到了棕背伯劳和一堆小白鹭。

My local patch has been really productive during this month, with a few visits it yielded me quite a few different species of migrants! For example, on two separate occasions, I found Asian Brown Flycatchers and Black Winged Cuckooshrike.

Other than that, I also saw some other species of migrants, including Dark Sided Flycatcher, many Gray Wagtails, Arctic Warblers and a few Eastern Crowned Warblers.

Other than that, there were still a very nice mix of our local forest birds, with some seen including Speckled Piculets, Velvet fronted Nuthatches, Yellow Cheeked Tit, Blue Winged Minla, White Bellied Erpornis, and many Grey Chinned Minivets.

Closer to my housing estate, I found a really confiding Brown Shrike, which stayed around for 3 days. It perched really close, and provided great views!
