My world life list has been lingering on 898 for a few months now, and so I was waiting for when I could some lifers. I got the perfect opportunity when my parents joined a five day sightseeing tour to Beijing near the end of October. Since it was a sightseeing tour, I did not have much of a chance to go birding, however I managed to find a few birds while in the tourist hotspots.
我的世界鸟类停留在898种好几个月了，所以我一直在等待机会去看些新鸟种。十月底，我父母参加了一个五天的北京观光游，这给了我一个绝佳的机会。因为是一个观光的旅行团，我没时间去看鸟，但是我都看到几只在城市里面。
Day 1-2第一和二天:
After landing the previous night, we woke up early to prepare for the day of sightseeing ahead. Before we met up with the rest of the tour group, I went to walk around a small forest patch near the hotel. I didn't see much, only a few domestic ducks and a Pallas' Leaf Warbler.
前一天晚上抵达后，我们早早起床，为今天的观光行程做准备。在与旅行团其他成员会合之前，我独自去酒店附近的一小片林地看鸟。我没看到什么特别的动物，只有几只家鸭和一只黃腰柳鶯。

Our first stop was going to the Forbidden City, mainly for looking at the palaces and amazing construction. Even before we entered, I spotted a Great Spotted Woodpecker on the other side of the river!
我们第一个地点是去故宫，我们去的原因是看宫殿。我们进去之前我都看到了一只大斑啄木鸟。

Once inside the Forbidden City, the views were amazing but I only added Rock Pigeon, White Cheeked Starling and Large Billed Crow.
我们进去了故宫之后看到很漂亮的场景，但是没鸟。我仅有原鸽，灰椋鳥和大嘴烏鴉。

There was some free time so I decided to go to the quieter parts of the Forbidden City with trees where I got more birds. Over there, I encountered Chinese Blackbirds, Spotted Doves, Light Vented Bulbuls and my lifer 899, the Grey capped Pygmy Woodpecker!
我们有一点自由行时间，我去了故宫有树的地方看到了多一点鸟。在哪我看到了乌鸫，珠颈斑鸠，白頭鵯和我世界第899的鸟类：星头啄木鸟！

After lunch, we headed over to Shichahai, where it was mainly for shopping and walking around for local products. There was a lake there, which I scanned for ducks. I managed to find Little Grebe and Mandarin Duck.
午饭后，我们去了什刹海，那里主要是购物和逛逛当地特产的地方。那里有个湖，我四处寻找鸭子。我找到了小䴙䴘和鸳鸯。
With that, our first full day at Beijing ended, and we had dinner before heading back to our hotel to prepare for the next day.
就这样，我们在北京的第一天结束了，我们吃了晚饭，然后返回酒店，为第二天的行程做准备。
Day 2 第二天:
Today was probably the most birdy day of our entire trip, since we were going to the outskirts of Beijing to visit some iconic landmarks. Our first stop was the Ming Tombs, there are 13 but we could only visit one. Once we arrived, I spotted some common birds including Eurasian Tree Sparrows and Asian Tits.
今天应该是我们整个旅程中鸟类最多的一天，因为我们要去北京郊区参观一些游客的地点。第一站是明十三陵，那里共有十三座陵墓，但我们只能参观一座。到达后，我看到了一些常见的鸟类，包括树麻雀和大山雀。

The local people left out groves of apricot trees with apricots still on them, to keep the birds fed during the cold winters. I saw two birds climbing on the bark of one tree, turned out they were Snowy Browed Nuthatch and Great Spotted Woodpecker! The nuthatch was my lifer 900, which made me extremely happy that I reached this milestone! However, I failed to get photos of the woodpecker since I was too distracted by the nuthatch.
当地人有给鸟很多个杏树在冬天的时候，漏了果子。我在一棵树上看到了两只鸟在爬来爬去，原来是白眉山雀和大斑啄木鸟！白眉山雀是我世界第900宗鸟，领导我很开心达到这个目标。

Suddenly I noticed a raptor fly by at speed, and it turned out to be a Peregrine Falcon! I could not get a good photo, only a blurry record shot.
突然，我看到一只猛禽高速飞过，结果发现是一只游隼！我没能拍到清晰的照片，只拍到了一张模糊的记录照。

We made our way into the tombs, an on the way I saw a squirrel, many Oriental Magpies and a few Oriental Greenfinches flying past.
我们进入了陵墓，途中我看到一只松鼠、许多喜鹊和几只金翅雀飞过。

After exiting the tombs, there was some free time and so so decided to talk around the more forested patches of the place to look for some birds. There, I found Bramblings, a pair of Northern Goshawk and a distant Pied Harrier.
离开陵墓后，我有一些空自由行，于是决定去附近林木茂盛的地方转转，看看能不能看到一些鸟类。在那里，我看到了燕雀，两只苍鹰和鹊鹞。

Just before lunch, we visited a farm to pick some apples, and whilst there I managed to find a large flock of Daurian Jackdaws flying over, a flock of Vinous Throated Parrotbills and a grasshopper.
午饭前，我们去农场摘苹果，在那里我看到了一大堆达乌里寒鸦，棕頭鴉雀和一只蚱蜢。

After lunch, we visited one of the most famous and well known historical sites of China; The Great Wall of China. We visited the Great Wall at Juyongguan, which started at the 7th tower. The first bird which I saw there was a few Carrion Crows.
午餐时候，我们去了中国最有名的地方：万里长城。我们去的部分是居庸關，在第七个塔开始。我们到了之后第一只鸟看到就是小嘴乌鸦。

As we gained elevation, I hit a bird wave, containing of Pallas' Leaf Warblers, more Vinous Throated Parrotbills and Red Billed Blue Magpies.
我们爬高一点就见到了黃腰柳鶯，棕頭鴉雀和紅嘴藍鵲。

The view was also amazing, I never expected it to look so stunning. The hike was extremely steep and most of the time was uphill, so by the time I completed the round trip we were the last ones back to the tour group! On the way down I also saw another squirrel.
风景都很漂亮，我没想到会那么震撼！但是友们爬上去都要很多时间和很辛苦。我们下来看到了一只松鼠。

Afterwards, we had a nice dinner and went back to our hotel to sleep early since we had another busy day planned the next morning.
之后，我们吃了一只晚餐，然后回到酒店早早休息，因为第二天早上还有很忙的事情安排。
Day 3 第三天:
Before we headed to our first destination, I decided to do some birding from my hotel window. I didn't see too much, however there was a Blue Rock Thrush perched on top of a building. I only managed digiscope photos since it was too far for my camera's range.
我们去第一个进店之前我在酒店观鸟。我没看的很多鸟，有一只蓝矶鸫。

Our first stop was the Summer Palace, at first I thought there would be lots of birds there, however there was too many people so there wasn’t much bird activity. There was no birds not the way to the lake, and once we approached the lake I managed to spot Great Crested Grebe and a distant pair of Gray Herons flying over.
我们的第一站是颐和园。我本来以为那里会有很多鸟，但人太多了，所以鸟儿并不活跃。去湖边的路上也没看到鸟，直到我们靠近湖边，我才看到凤头䴙䴘和远处一对苍鹭飞过。

There were also some common ducks, including Mallards and Mandarin Ducks.

In terns of other birds than waterfowl, I only managed Red Billed Blue Magpies and Oriental Magpies.

After that, we headed to lunch, where I spotted a flock of Oriental Greenfinches.
我们之后去吃午餐的时候看到了几只金翅雀。

After lunch, we visited some tourist hotspots in the city, where I did not see any birds there. I only managed Rook, Carrion Crow, Large Billed Crow and Daurian Jackdaw in Tianamen Square.
午饭后，我们去了城里的一些旅游景点，但我在那里没看到任何鸟类。在天安门广场，我只看到了秃鼻乌鸦，小嘴乌鸦，大嘴烏鴉，仓鹭和达乌里寒鸦。

Day 5 第五天：
Today was our last day in Beijing, as our flight would be leaving in the evening. Before we met up with the rest of the group, I decided to walk the hotel grounds once again. I found the domestic ducks in the same place as I had on the first day.
今天是我们在北京的最后一天，因为我们的航班晚上就要起飞了。在和团里其他成员会合之前，我决定再去酒店附近走走。我发现家鸭还在第一天看到的地方。

As I went into some trees, I also added Bramblings, Marsh Tits and many Azure Winged Magpies.

As I was leaving, I got Great Spotted and Grey Capped Pygmy Woodpecker.

Our stop of the day was the Temple of Heaven, where I only saw Crested Mynas, Oriental Greenfinches and a Gecko.
